Starion Financial hires VP of credit administration

Marc Rasmussen has joined Starion Financial as its VP of credit administration. He is located at the bank’s downtown Bismarck location.

In his role, Rasmussen works with the chief credit officer to lead and oversee the credit department regarding underwriting, collateral valuation, loan policy adherence, documentation/commercial loan operations and project administration. He ensures credit quality while providing competitive service levels to internal and external customers of the department. Additionally, Rasmussen facilitates projects relating to all aspects of credit administration, strategic initiatives, regulatory compliance, internal controls, software changes, credit reporting, efficiency gains and enhancement of loan policies.

Rasmussen has more than 30 years of experience, having served as a loan officer, residential lending manager, branch manager, regional manager and most recently as a senior credit officer. He earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of South Dakota. Additionally, he graduated from Master’s level three-year courses at both Mortgage Bankers Association’s School of Mortgage Banking – Wash. and Pacific Coast Banking School – Wash.

Before moving to North Dakota, Rasmussen was involved in United Way, YMCA, Rotary Club, Washington Reinvestment Association, Habitat for Humanity, Jaycees and other service clubs. He is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and is a published author.
