Starion Financial awarded Business of the Year
On behalf of Starion Financial, Jay Feil, market president, accepted the Business of the Year award from the Mandan Progress Organization (MPO) at their annual awards dinner on Monday, January 27th.
MPO was established in 1993 as a forum for businesses and citizens to unite to help Mandan thrive. Their mission is to enhance Mandan's business climate, create and promote public events and generate community pride.
Feil says “this award was totally unexpected; this is just what we do.”
Strong community focus is a core value at Starion Financial, and the bank has been involved with MPO since its inception. “Not only has Starion been a member since the beginning, but they were an integral part in forming the Mandan Progress Organization,” said Del Wetsch, executive director of MPO.
“Over the years, we could always count on Feil and the team at Starion to support all of our events. They have contributed not only financially, but also with volunteers helping organize and execute these events,” said Wetsch. “When selecting the Business of the Year, we look at what companies do throughout the community, not just for MPO events. It was a unanimous decision by the board to name Starion Financial the Business of the Year.”
Craig Larson, Starion Financial president/CEO, congratulated the Mandan staff: “I am proud of the support the entire team provides to the community. Mandan has fast become one of the most exciting communities in all of North Dakota.”
