Thorstenson hired as training coordinator
Starion Financial has expanded its training department by hiring Robin Thorstenson as the training coordinator. She is located at the bank’s downtown Bismarck location.
In her role, Thorstenson is responsible for writing procedures and training manuals, coordinating training schedules and facilitating training for many areas of the bank, including new hires, emerging leaders and the business, mortgage and investment team members. She develops and implements formal training programs for new members of the banking team, ensuring proper training is delivered at all levels.
Thorstenson has more than eight years of experience as a corporate trainer, as well as many years of experience in nonprofit program management. She earned her bachelor’s degree in management from Washburn University of Topeka – Kansas, and her master’s degree in nonprofit management from the University of St. Thomas – Minnesota. Thorstenson is also a certified Development Dimensions International (DDI) facilitator.
Thorstenson also serves on the Dakota Media Access Board of Directors and on the United Way Community Impact Committee. She is a member of Toastmasters and Leadership Bismarck-Mandan Alumni Association.
