Starion Financial's Weisbeck graduates from Leadership Bis-Man

Starion-Financial-Weisbeck-LeadershipLee Weisbeck, business banker at Starion’s Mandan bank, graduated from The Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Bismarck-Mandan Program. Weisbeck was recognized during a luncheon on May 21.

Leadership Bismarck-Mandan is a program credited with producing some of the area’s top leaders. Throughout the past seven months, 19 leaders gathered twice a month to participate in “Issue Days,” engaging emerging leaders in business and community issues. Some of the topics presented included local issues, natural resources, political involvement, health, education, military, economic development, agriculture, human services, media, ethics and values.

The last segment of the program involves class members selecting and gathering input to develop a field project addressing a community need. This year there were three groups who presented field projects on the need for daycare in our community, downtown art and a universal playground addressing all needs and abilities.

“Through this program I learned a lot about what great leaders we have in Bismarck-Mandan,” said Weisbeck. “It helped me understand what it takes to be a leader in our community and how important leadership is to the community. I also learned a lot about the childcare needs in our region and how we can potentially address the issues we’re facing.”
